Cole Park, Tezpur is a picturesque park located near the center of Tezpur. It is also known as Chitralekha Udyan, as both names are synonymous. The park is named after a famous character in the Agnigarh Aniruddha-Usha love story. It has a rich tradition of hosting painting and drawing competitions for nearby schools, thanks to its various features.
A replica of the famous Bhomoraguri inscription, which documented the ancient plans to build a bridge across the Brahmaputra River (where the current Kolia Bhomora Setu stands), has been created in this park for public viewing. The park also offers paddle boating facilities on the pond. Recently, it has added “Bumping Cars” to its list of amusements. One of the main attractions for children is a jet-fighter model called Valiant MIG 21, which was the first supersonic aircraft for the Indian Air Force and capable of traveling at Mach 2. Additionally, there is a large concrete-made map of India.
The park features a water feature in the form of a lake, where visitors can enjoy small rowing and paddle boats.

2. Agnigarh

Agnigarh is a hillock located in Tezpur, Assam, India. In Hindu mythology, it is the site of the fortress which was built by Banasura to keep his daughter Usha in isolation. The name itself is derived from the words ‘Agni’ and ‘garh’ in Sanskrit.

3. Mahabhairab Temple
Place Description
The ancient Mahabhairav Temple is located at a hillock on the northern part of Tezpur town in Assam, India. This Shiva temple was originally built of stone but the present one was renovated and built with concrete. During the Ahom rule, the kings especially of the Tungkhungia dynasty donated large area of Devotee land to the Temple and appointed pujaris, Paiks to look after the temple. The temple is now managed by the Government of Assam through a managing committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner, Sonitpur. Maha Shivaratri the annual festival of Shaivite branch of Hinduism is celebrated in the temple complex with devotees coming from far and wide. Laddu laced with Bhang, an edible preparation of cannabis and also mixed with milk and spices, are offered as prasad to Lord Shiva as per the rituals. Various puja are also conducted at this temple, pigeons are also freed that symbolizes that spirit of ancestors are being liberated.

Place Description
Ketakeshwar Dewal is a holy site in the Ketakibari area of Tezpur in Assam, India. It is reputed to have one of the largest Shivalingas in the world.
The actual site has two parts – one part where the actual linga is located and another part a few metres away where the original base of the linga is located. Legend has it that during a severe earthquake in the past the linga was uprooted from its base and deposited where it currently stands.
This shrine is open to visitors and there is a local committee which oversees the development of the area around the site. Originally it was in the middle of bamboo groves with a small pathway for people to approach on foot. Recently there is a full shelter that has been built on the site for the protection of the holy area from the natural elements as well as for the devotees to assemble and offer their prayers.

21. Garho Doul Archeological Site
Place Description
Garh Doul archaeological site is a significant State Protected Monument in Assam, India. It is located at Tarajan Kumargaon, approximately 7 kilometres away from Tezpur in the Sonitpur district. This archaeological site is listed as an ASI monument under the number S-AS-95. It is fortified in all directions with a reinforced rampart and covers an area of 250×250 m. The site features two brick mounds, which contain the foundations of brick temple plinths. These remains can be dated back to the 7th and 8th centuries CE.

24. Kolia Bhomora Setu
Place Description
Kolia Bhomora Setu is a bridge located in Tezpur, Assam state of India. It was completed in 1987 and is made of pre-stressed concrete. The bridge spans a length of 3.015 km and is situated on NH-715, crossing over the Brahmaputra River. It connects Tezpur in Sonitpur district on the northern bank with Kaliabor in Nagaon District on the south bank. The bridge is named after the Ahom General Kolia Bhomora Phukan.
In 2021, a new bridge called Bhomoraguri-Tezpur Bridge was opened. This bridge is 3.040 km long and is located parallel to the existing Kolia Bhomora Setu.
