Place Description
Narwar Fort is situated atop a hill, at Narwar in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, about 500 feet above ground level spread over an area of 8 km², which stands on a steep scarp of the Vindhya Range. Kachwaha Rajputs are said to have built the fort when they occupied Narwar in the 10th century. Kachwaha Rajput, Pratihara Rajput, and Tomara Rajputs held Narwar successively from 12th century onwards, until its capture by the Mughals in the 16th century. It was conquered by the Maratha chief Scindia in the early 19th century.

Madhav National Park is located in the Shivpuri District of Gwalior division in northwest Madhya Pradesh, India. The park is traversed by two national highways, namely the former National Highway 3 from Agra to Bombay and the National Highway 27 from Jhansi to Shivpuri.
The park was initially established in 1956 as Shivpuri National Park, covering an area of 167 km². It was later renamed Madhav National Park in 1958 in honor of Madho Rao Scindia, the Maharaja of Gwalior from the Scindia dynasty of the Marathas. The park’s boundaries were finalized the following year. Additionally, Sakhya Sagar, a man-made reservoir within the park, has been recognized as a Ramsar site since 2022.

11. Madikheda Dam
Place Description
Madikheda Dam is a multi-purpose dam located in the Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Before independence, it was under the control of the Rajpoot chiefs of Raipur Dhamkan, which was a seat of the Thakur from the Pawaiya Chauhan clan. The Chauhans of Raipur held significant power in the former Narwar zila. At that time, Thakore sahib Shree Niranjan Singhji Pawaiya, the current Chief of Raipur, had three sons: Shree Balvant Singhji, the eldest, Shree Mehtav Singhji, and Shree Parikshit Singhji, the youngest.
Later, Shree Parikshit Singhji settled in Madikheda and became the first chieftain or Pradhan of Madikheda, along with some other villages of Raipur Dhamkan. He had two sons, Shree Pran Singhji and Shree Jihan Singhji. Thakore sahib Lambardar Shree Jihan Singhji Pawaiya was the last pradhan or chieftain of Madikheda. The former village of Madikheda was affected by the dam project on the Sindh river, along with many other villages on the riverbank, between 1975 and 1977.
